Thankful For The Love Of A Pet

With Valentine’s Day quickly approaching, let’s take a moment to give thanks to our pets for the wonderful, unconditional love they give us. Pets have been a part of human companionship since the beginning of time and fulfill some unique needs for us. Pets bring out our nurturing side because they are solely dependent upon us. Children love pets because of the reciprocal love they experience from cuddling and playing with them. Many of us consider our pets to be a part of our family and refer to ourselves as our cat or dog's Mom or Dad even if we don't have human children.

Pets love us unconditionally in spite of our flaws. They are there for us through thick and thin, through good times and bad times and love us throughout. When we walk through the door, the magic of that loving, warm welcome makes us come alive!

Celebrate Your Dog Today!

On National Dog Day, we rejoice about all dogs, big and small. Many dogs are considered beloved family members who bring comfort to us every day. Some dogs put their life on the line in the military, in law enforcement and in service to the disabled. National Dog Day is special because it serves as a dedicated occasion to celebrate and honor the incredible bond between humans and dogs. This day recognizes the diverse roles that dogs play in our lives – from loyal companions and family members to service animals, therapy dogs, and working partners. It provides an opportunity to raise awareness about the importance of responsible pet ownership, promoting adoption from shelters, and supporting the well-being of all dogs. National Dog Day also acknowledges the unconditional love, loyalty, and joy that dogs bring into our lives. It encourages people to spend quality time with their canine friends, pamper them with extra attention, and consider the welfare of dogs in need. Overall, National Dog Day is a special and heartwarming occasion that emphasizes the positive impact that dogs have on our lives and encourages kindness and compassion towards these wonderful creatures.

National Dog Day was founded to celebrate the joy of dogs as well as to raise awareness about the plight of homeless dogs and the many that still need to be rescued. Celebrate with your special pups by giving them some extra love and attention. Consider going for a hike, having a doggie playdate or giving your dog a new special toy. It’s also a great day to donate to your favorite shelter or rescue. We wish you a Happy National Dog Day!

Legend At His Favorite Place - So Thankful!

Took our Ol’ Boy Legend to his favorite place, Dana Point Harbor, yesterday for a lovely morning walk. He gets so excited to go but it’s hard not to feel a pang of heartbreak seeing him slowdown once he gets there after walking for a bit. Legend is now in his very senior years—his DNA test said he was genetically 102 years old (in human years) 6 months ago. We are so so grateful every day we have with him. He is an incredible survivor and all the conventional and holistic veterinary care and love have helped him live the absolute best life. But no matter how much we hope and pray our beloved pets will live forever, signs of aging (e.g slowing down on walks, not going as far as he used to) remind us that they don’t. The most painful part of loving a pet is knowing someday we will lose them, right? Please take a moment from your busy day to give your pet a little extra time and attention. They bring so much love, joy and happiness into our lives. With all that goes on in this world, it’s truly a miracle how pets bring out the best in us.
