Is Dry Food Right For Your Pet?

Many pet owners choose dry food because it is convenient and economical. But dry food (even grain-free) has drawbacks. But is dry food good for your cat? Is dry food good for your dog? Dry food is high in carbohydrates, so it isn't the best choice for pets with health conditions such as diabetes, allergies or yeast. Dry food can be hard to digest for pets with digestive disorders, such as IBD and acid reflux. It can cause bloat in dogs. Whenever possible, try to include a raw frozen, canned or homemade portion to every pet's diet. Adding homemade vegetables can also be very beneficial to pets because they add fiber, vitamins and minerals and can help pets feel full.
