Celebrate National Holistic Pet Day!

Celebrate National Holistic Pet Day (August 30th) by giving your pet the best start for a vibrant life! Don't wait until your beloved cat or dog starts showing signs of "old age." Begin their journey early with a focus on nutrition, including vegetables and omegas in their diet. Incorporate regular exercise into their routine and introduce natural supplements while they are still young.  For example,  pets can benefit the most from joint support supplements when they're still active and full of energy. Joint supplements can improve their mobility and help slow down the natural wear and tear that comes with aging. Let’s make every day a holistic and joyful adventure for our pets!

Senior Dog Finds Renewed Energy

Amy rescued her sweet Allie years ago. As Allie was getting older, she was starting to have a harder time doing the things she used to do:

"My sweet rescue dog Allie has always acted like a puppy. But now that she is getting close to 13 years, I noticed she was having difficulty getting into cars and climbing the stairs. I am very concerned about only giving Allie things that are good for her. I wanted to try something natural and didn’t want to use medication. I tried K9 CurcuMagic and am so happy with the results. Allie has more energy and is able to jump up on my bed again! She is having less problems with the stairs too." Amy, CA.

Thankful For Every Moment With Legend

Just wanted to give everyone an update on Legend. As of this week, it is 1 1/2 years that we have been fighting liver cancer and 6 months since the second massive hepatocellular tumor returned. We have tried twice to surgically remove the tumor and tried every possible treatment imaginable. We had been in contact with UC Davis about a new cancer procedure but due to Legend’s age (he is 14 1/2) and cancer metastasis he doesn’t qualify Still the regular vet visits, holistic treatments and nutritional supplements are helping. We have good days and hard days. We cry a lot and we feel incredible joy when something wonderful happens (he suddenly jumped on the couch!). Anyone who has loved an animal knows the pain of seeing them grow old and sick. For right now, Legend is holding his own. He is still going on two walks a day (albeit very slowly and short), engages with us, and has an amazing will to live. Recently a neighbor (who isn’t a dog owner) approached us and told us he was praying for Legend every day because he was so inspired by this elderly dog putting one foot in front of the other with such fortitude, despite all of his health issues. If you have an elderly or sick pet, taking them outside even just for five minutes can make their whole day. We thank you all so much from the bottom of our hearts for all the love and support you have shown our beloved dog. We hope you can give your pets an extra hug today. Life is so short and our time with our pets is never long enough.

Why You Should Adopt A Senior Pet?

It’s so sad that wonderful adult pets are often overlooked in shelters. But you can change that. The truth is that love is ageless and adult pets are hidden gems! They already have life experience and maturity, making their transition to a home much easier. Adult pets are usually calmer, less destructive and low maintenance. With an adult pet, what you see is what you get! Their personality and size are already established, so there are no surprises. The best part is that adult pets seem to realize that they have been given a second chance and are loyal and grateful. Save a life and find a perfect pet by visiting

Legend At His Favorite Place - So Thankful!

Took our Ol’ Boy Legend to his favorite place, Dana Point Harbor, yesterday for a lovely morning walk. He gets so excited to go but it’s hard not to feel a pang of heartbreak seeing him slowdown once he gets there after walking for a bit. Legend is now in his very senior years—his DNA test said he was genetically 102 years old (in human years) 6 months ago. We are so so grateful every day we have with him. He is an incredible survivor and all the conventional and holistic veterinary care and love have helped him live the absolute best life. But no matter how much we hope and pray our beloved pets will live forever, signs of aging (e.g slowing down on walks, not going as far as he used to) remind us that they don’t. The most painful part of loving a pet is knowing someday we will lose them, right? Please take a moment from your busy day to give your pet a little extra time and attention. They bring so much love, joy and happiness into our lives. With all that goes on in this world, it’s truly a miracle how pets bring out the best in us.
