Why Do All Kittens Have Blue Eyes?
All kittens are born with their eyes closed. After a couple of weeks, their eyes open and blue irises appear. The blue is caused by a lack of melanin pigment. As kitties grow, their eyes most likely will change colors at around 6 weeks, when the melanin production kicks in. Some cats' eyes will stay blue and others will change into many beautiful colors. A cat’s eye color is genetically linked to coat color. For example, white cats are more likely to have blue, green, gold or copper eyes and some may have eyes with different colors. A cat’s eyes are one of their more beautiful features. For more pet tips, please visit AskAriel.com
